Apollo Global Management Winner

Alternative asset management and retirement solutions provider Apollo Global Management invests across the credit, equity and real assets ecosystems in a wide range of asset classes and geographies, with a significant focus on the private investment grade and fixed-income markets.

“Apollo’s credit business serves as a financing partner of choice for large corporates, sponsor-backed businesses, specialty lending platforms and more, helping companies to access flexible solutions at competitive costs of capital to fuel their growth, particularly as they participate in future-oriented and capital-intensive projects, such as AI infrastructure development and the global energy transition,” says Patrick Lovett, an associate at Apollo.

He adds that while others have pulled back from lending due to volatile market conditions, Apollo has been very active in putting capital to work, “providing innovative financing solutions with creative structures to leading companies at the frontier of global trends such as [artificial intelligence] development, travel e-commerce and entertainment.”

For example, the firm made an $11 billion investment to acquire a 49% interest in a joint venture related to Intel’s high‐volume chip manufacturing facility in Ireland, an investment totaling up to 1.5 billion euros in multinational airline company Air France-KLM and its associated loyalty program, Flying Blue—including a commitment from the airline to spend 100 million euros in sustainable aviation fuel over the next four years—and several others.

According to Lovett, “Recent months have seen the demand for creative private financing solutions rise significantly as traditional financing sources have pulled back in many areas of the market, and Apollo has worked to fill this need through its diverse capital base, quick execution and ability to offer customized, flexible capital solutions throughout the cycle.”

Apollo originated approximately $100 billion of assets in 2023 and originated more than $92 billion in the first half of 2024, Lovett says.
