This British parent company, started in 1836 as an insurer for law firms, branched into investment management in 1970 and set up shop in the US in 2006, aiming to serve institutional and corporate clients. LGIM America, with assets under management (AUM) at $262 billion, constantly monitors funded ratios and explores the trends that push plan performance up or down. 

The firm offers clients a rich mix of passive investing strategies and active management, often using factor investing. According to LGIM America, this includes “multi-asset overlays that help clients maintain desired policy allocations, hedge tail risks, and seek to add value through tactical asset allocation decisionmaking.”
