A total of 53 firms volunteered information on their businesses this year, the same amount as last year, but with some different firms participating. Total assets under discretionary management grew $10.55 billion (1.2%) along with total full discretionary clients, which increased proportionally by 115 (1.1%) over the last year. Growth over the last nine years is notably impressive: Total discretionary assets rocketed from $90.9 billion in 2007 to more than $883 billion in 2016 while the number of discretionary clients soared from 479 to 11,018, respectively.
