Appointment of CIO for Middle East, Africa and Europe, excluding Germany, rounds out six-member team.
Deutsche Bank has completed its global chief investment office team with the naming of Zeynep Ozturk-Unlu as its private bank’s CIO for the Middle East, Africa and Europe, excluding Germany.
In addition to Ozturk-Unlu, the team, which is led by Global CIO Christian Nolting, includes
Ulrich Stephan, who is CIO for Germany; Americas CIO Deepak Puri; Asia-Pacific CIO Stefanie Holtze-Jen; and ESG CIO Markus Müller.
“Zeynep Ozturk-Unlu plays a key role in our global CIO structure, and brings a wealth of EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] local markets experience and insight for the benefit of our private banking and wealth management clients across the EMEA region,” Nolting said in a statement.
Ozturk-Unlu joins Deutsche Bank in London from Citi, where she worked for more than 22 years, most recently in New York as head of capital markets, Americas. She was also with Citi Private Bank in London as EMEA capital markets head of fixed income, and before that was Citi’s head of central Eastern Europe and Turkey cross-asset sales in institutional markets. She began her career in corporate banking in Istanbul, in her native Turkey.
“I am eternally grateful for everything that Citi has given me over the years and will continue to cheer my great friends for all their success,” Zeynep Ozturk wrote in a LinkedIn post. “I am super excited about the new role that I will be embarking on soon.”
As EMEA CIO, Ozturk-Unlu, who will report to Nolting, will present the CIO view to clients and other stakeholders, including the media. She will also join the multi-asset investment committee as a voting member.
