Church Commissioners Nab Sawdust Director
Mary-Pat Barron will be the Anglican fund’s new head of public equities.
Mary-Pat Barron is the new head of public equities for the Church Commissioners for England, the $10 billion Anglican pension fund said.
Barron, who started Monday, comes from Sawdust Investment Management, where she was director of investments from 2014. She ran its public equities, hedge funds, fixed income, and private investments, first working in Sawdust’s Chicago office. She relocated to its London branch in 2017, where most of her focus became European investments, according to Church Commissioners.
Tom Joy, the fund’s chief investment officer, said Barron “will be bringing her impressive track record in public equites while working in harmony with our specific values as a faith investor.”
Barron said stocks have always been her passion and appreciated the Church’s responsible investment approach.
The Church Commissioners manages more than $4.38 billion in public equities, most of which is outsourced.
