To begin regulatory framework on blockchain startups and initial coin offerings (ICOs), the Swiss government has created a taskforce.
According to a fact sheet obtained by Coindesk, the group will be led by Finance Minister Ueli Mausrer and Economics and Education Minister Johann Schneider-Ammann. Taskforce Blockchain will examine legal guidelines regarding ICOs and blockchain companies while working with the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters.
The group will also consist of blockchain startup members, their attorneys, and federal and local officials.
Schneider-Ammann praised the inclusion of blockchain companies in the framework discussions, noting the technology’s importance as well as the need for “liberal regulation.”
Taskforce Blockchain will hold its inaugural meeting January 12.
