Edgehill Endowment Partners hires Jason Raiti, Alpine gets new chiefs-in-training and analysts, and more.

Edgehill Endowment Partners, Leading Endowment and Foundation Investment Manager, Hires Jason Raiti

Edgehill Endowment Partners announced that Jason Raiti has joined the firm as a partner. A highly experienced investment professional, he will play a key role in the firm’s investment research and strategy.

For the past three years, Raiti was chief investment officer for the $389 million endowment at Choate Rosemary Hall, a top quartile performing endowment.

Previously, he was a senior investment official at Eastman Kodak and the Wesleyan University Investment Office.

“His skills in asset allocation, portfolio design, and manager selection across a range of asset classes are the qualities that will deliver results for our clients and enable the firm to continue its growth in the years to come,” said Ellen Shuman, co-founder and managing partner of Edgehill.

 

Alpine Hires New CEOs-in-Training and Investment Analysts

Alpine Investors announced its latest CEOs-in-Training (CITs) and investment analysts.

The newest recruits of the CIT program are 41.6% this number was updated to correct the right percentage ethnic minorities.

“We’re proud to have a training program that champions personal fulfillment alongside long-term career prosperity for today’s brightest talent,” said Alpine chief talent officer Matt Moore. “Our one-of-a-kind strategy not only gets young, motivated people into the CEO role quickly, but it helps them generate the kind of returns that most traditional portfolio companies can never reach.”

Sixty-seven percent of CITs who have become CEOs achieved the distinction within their first year of joining the program. This year it was once again the most applied to job out of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, the nation’s leading MBA program.

The new CITs includes Steven Barber, VP of BD and Strategy at MidAmerica, a benefits administration portfolio company at Alpine; Tim Burke,  CEO of NetGain, a portfolio company of Alpine’s managed service provider platform, Evergreen; Ian Goldberg, Vice President of Frank Gay Services, a subsidiary of Apex Service Partners (Alpine’s HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical Platform); Saba Jafri joins as Head of Operations at Alpine portfolio company Summit Dermatology; Jonathan Jean-Pierre, Vice President of Special Programs at North East Ohio Eye Surgeons, a company within Alpine’s ophthalmology platform; Vivek Kartha, chief executive for Alpine Software Group (Alpine SG); Colin Li, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Practice Panther, a portfolio company of Alpine SG; Will Matson, Chief Financial Officer of Apex Service Partners; Steven Moore, operating executive at Alpine SG; Lauren-Kristine (“LK”) Pryzant, operating executive at Alpine SG; and Alice Song, executive-in-residence for Alpine SG.

Alpine’s eight new analysts will work within its investing function. New additions to the team include Ozair Ahmad, Stephanie Flamen, John Fry, Ted O’Rourke, Hanseul Nam, Rohan Singh, Arash Virk, and Leeraz Zuo.

Federated Investors, Inc. Appoints Martin Jarzebowski as Director of Responsible Investing

Federated Investors, Inc. announced that it has appointed Martin Jarzebowski to director of responsible investing. Jarzebowski will advance the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into Federated’s investment decision-making process.

Jarzebowski will be responsible for the design and build-out of the responsible investing office. He will focus on providing advanced investment research and data directly supporting the portfolio managers and analysts on Federated’s investment teams. Partnering with Hermes Investment Management, Jarzebowski will work closely with Federated’s equity, fixed income, and liquidity investment teams to advance their methodologies for systematically integrating ESG factors and engagement into investment strategies. He will also originate, publish, and actively promote sustainability research across the industry. Jarzebowski will report to Anne H. Kruczek, executive vice president, who has led the responsible investing office since its formation in February 2019.

Jarzebowski joined Federated in 2008 and most recently served as a portfolio manager of the Federated clover small value fund, where he has experience in fundamental research, quantitative analysis, portfolio construction and multi-asset risk management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell University and a master’s degree in law and accounting with a focus on corporate governance from the London School of Economics.

When Jarzebowski assumes his new role, effective Sept. 3, 2019, the Federated Clover Small Value Fund will continue to be managed by Stephen Gutch, senior portfolio manager and head of the Federated Clover value team. Gutch has been a portfolio manager of the fund for 12 years and has 24 years of investment experience. Gutch joined Federated in 2008.
