New Blood to Lead Corporate Swedish Pensions

Electrolux’s pension scheme has a new CIO, while Ericsson’s pension managing director is to retire.

(June 16, 2014) – Two of Sweden’s largest corporate pension funds are making changes to their senior management staff.

Asa Skogfors, CIO of Electrolux’s pension, has been promoted to head of corporate finance and markets, with Richard Lantz taking over the vacant role.

Skogsfors has worked at Electrolux for 13 years in various roles, taking over as CIO in September 2007. Lantz joined Electrolux in 2002 working in the Group Treasury in various roles. He moved to SEB Merchant Banking in 2008 as an emerging markets trader before returning to Electrolux in 2010.

In total Electrolux, a leading maker of household appliances, has five pension funds—in Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and the US—totalling roughly SEK20 billion ($3 billion) in assets.

Meanwhile, Ericsson Pension Fund Managing Director Ossie Everum is retiring at the end of this month, he told aiCIO, after more than 15 years at the SEK52 billion ($8 billion) pension fund. Everum also holds a senior role at Vacse, a Swedish real estate company set up and owned by the Ericsson Pension Fund alongside six other pension fund investors.
