M&G’s head of distribution for fixed income is to leave the group after 13 years in the role.
Bernard Abrahamsen joined M&G—the investment giant wholly owned by UK-based insurer Prudential—in 2002.
“Bernard has done a fantastic job in establishing and developing fixed income’s institutional distribution capabilities, both in the UK and internationally,” said Simon Pilcher, chief executive of the fixed income division at M&G. “His legacy is a strong team and excellent client relationships—a legacy on which M&G will continue to build. I am deeply grateful for his outstanding contribution and wish him the best for the future.”
Pilcher and Jenny Williams, head of institutional public debt, will assume Abrahamsen’s responsibilities in the short term, the asset manager said. It was not clear whether the group was planning to appoint a permanent replacement.
M&G’s fixed income team has been shortlisted in the asset management/servicing section of May’s CIO European Innovation Awards.
