Global Endowment Management LP, an outsourced chief investment officer firm with $11 billion in assets under management, announced it has hired Dogan Perese as its chief operating officer.
Perese, formerly co-head of investment operations at Bridgewater Associates, will oversee GEM’s daily operations across all business units, enabling the firm’s strategic and investment priorities, and will work alongside the firm’s co-founder and managing partner, Stephanie Lynch, according to information from the Charlotte, North Carolina-based firm.
“In the diverse global investment environment, GEM has built its track record and reputation of excellence,” Perese said in a statement. “I look forward to collaborating with the entire leadership team as we execute on our long-term vision.”
GEM has provided long-term investment capabilities for institutions, such as endowments and foundations, for 16 years. The firms clients include foundations, universities, secondary schools,. research institutions, policy organizations and more.
Perese earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental science and public policy from Harvard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He started his career at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore before joining Bridgewater, where he held multiple roles, including COO of infrastructure technology, COO of client services and marketing and, most recently, co-head of investment operations.
