“Jane brings a unique financial perspective, having successfully stewarded Harvard Management Company through the crisis,” Lazard’s Chairman and CEO Kenneth Jacobs said.

Mendillo left the Harvard Management Company in June 2014 after six years as CEO and 15 years in various investment roles. Previously, she served as CIO of Wellesley College’s endowment and was a management consultant at Bain & Co.

The former endowment chief is also on the board of the Berklee College of Music, the Boston Foundation, and the investment committee of the Mellon Foundation. She also chairs the investment committee of the Partners Healthcare System.

Orszag will join the firm in May 2016 from Citibank to advise clients on mergers and acquisitions.

Lazard also named former CEO of oil and gas company Total Upstream Yves-Louis Darricarrère and former Finance Minister of Nigeria Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as advisors.
