Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec announced the appointment of Martin Longchamps as executive vice president and head of private equity. He will start November 14.
CDPQ is a C$392 billion (US $287 billion) institutional investor that manages several public pension and insurance programs.
Longchamps will work in CDPQ’s Montréal office and be responsible for the international private equity portfolio, which includes investments across various sectors worldwide. Prior to joining CDPQ, Mr. Longchamps was a managing director, and the head of origination and execution, private equity, at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board.
Longchamps has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from McGill University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Before his tenure at PSP Investments, Longchamps was vice president of corporate development at Transcontinental, a partner at Edgestone Capital Partners, and an investment analyst at CDP Capital Communications, previously a CDPQ subsidiary.
Longchamps replaces Martin Laguerre, who spent the past three years leading the organization’s private equity portfolio.
