The exodus of senior staff from the Stanford Management Company (SMC) began in 2006. The institutional community noticed. Stanford’s investment board took action after eight-and-half-years of turnover and the ouster of SMC’s deputy. What follows is a partial account of management-level exits under CEO John Powers.
