LP Analyst Winner
A tech-based resource for institutional investors, portfolio monitoring platform LP Analyst has been around for 12 years. It offers expertise in private assets, which are increasingly important to allocators.
Founded by two senior team members at Cogent Partners, a secondary markets-focused investment bank that became a part of Greenhill & Co., LP Analyst (LP stands for “limited partners”) specializes in private asset managed data collection, reporting and analytics, and supporting front- to back-office teams. The firm has several financial people in-house who have acquired tech expertis and are responsible for building out the platform's monitoring, due diligence and active management capabilities.
Co-founders Katita Palamar (once an analyst with Goldman Sachs) and Bill Farrell (ex-Bear Stearns analyst) lead a company that has strong expertise in finance and technology. The company says on its website that it delivers “independent, data-driven analysis.”
The firm's 100-plus clients include private and public pension plans, endowments, foundations and family offices. And it provides advice over a broad array of private asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, real estate and private credit. LP is proud that it has staffers from diverse backgrounds.
