Alline Akintore has joined the Oregon Investment Council, where she was introduced at last week’s meeting. Akintore was appointed by Oregon Governor Tina Kotek and confirmed by the Oregon State Senate in June.
Akintore is a partner in the Oregon Venture Fund, an early-stage venture capital fund that invests in startups and growth companies in Oregon and southwest Washington. She leads the VC fund’s due diligence and research on prospective investments.
The OIC oversees the investment and allocation of all Oregon state trust funds, including the $92.4 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, the $2.1 billion Oregon Common School Fund and the $4.4 billion State Accident Insurance Fund Corp.
The six-member council is comprised of four fiduciaries appointed by the governor and two ex officio members: the state treasurer and the director of the agency that administers the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System.
Before joining the Oregon Venture Fund in 2021, Akintore, a native of Rwanda, was a venture fellow at January Ventures and served on the Bank of Kigali’s board of directors, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She has degrees in electrical engineering from Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Pennsylvania and earned an MBA from Stanford University.
