Rosanne KroppAllianz Life has hired Rosanne Kropp as vice president of investment strategies for Allianz Investment Management (AIM), the insurer announced Monday.
Reporting to CIO Todd Hedtke, Kropp will be responsible for developing and executing US investment strategies and managing more than $100 billion in assets.
“Rosanne brings more than 20 years of experience in actuarial and investment management to her new role,” Hedtke said in a news release. “Her expertise will allow us to further strengthen our investment strategy and help AIM continue to deliver consistent, reliable performance and income to our business.”
As vice president, Kropp will lead AIM’s asset-liability management, strategic and tactical asset allocation programs, and alternative investments “in order to optimize performance, income, and liquidity for all managed portfolios,” Allianz Life said.
Her appointment comes eight months after Hedtke’s promotion to CIO in September. Hedtke replaced former investment chief Carsten Quitter, who transferred to the same role at Allianz’s Italian branch.
Kropp comes to Allianz Life from Connecticut-based insurer Genworth Financial, where she served as senior vice president and head of portfolio management. There she managed a $70 billion portfolio of insurance general account assets and was responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies and manager oversight.
Previously, Kropp has held roles as a portfolio manager for Delaware Investments and actuary at Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company and Allstate.
Kropp is a CFA charterholder, as well as a fellow in the Society of Actuaries. She holds a bachelor of business administration degree in actuarial science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
